It’s that time of the year where anons across the world decide that their goal for the New Year is to run a marathon, only to realize it *might* be harder than they thought.

It’s not that the art of running itself is difficult, but the fact that you are going from being a desk monkey with unconditioned soft tissue to running hard miles on the pavement. Especially as you age and want to return to your former glory of younger athleticism, the idea of running being 100% of your cardiovascular output may not be the best way forward at the moment.

While running itself is the most efficient source of cardiovascular output; aging occurs, past injuries flare up, or general wear may ensue due to predisposed conditions.

This is where cycling comes in as a tool to support and supplement your running gains.
