Finding Your Race Pace
One question I’m hounded with on a weekly basis is “how do I find my race pace?”. Not an easy answer. There’s almost too many factors at play. I’ll help to contextualize your training data, but performing on race day is a whole different story.
Training to run a certain race distance is easy. Simply planning out the needed weekly mileage over the course of a few months is all it takes from a distance perspective. Adding in a pace requirement muddies the water.
This is especially true for first to second time marathoners. We simply don’t have the data to make an educated guess. In light of this, we must create data. AKA: Run more.
